    Thread: BOV/DV for 02 jetta 1.8T???

      Im new to VW's I have stock Jetta with CAI thats it. So how do I put the dv or bov on my stock jetta ? also Yeah its ***** ect... But which BOV/dv gives best Swishhhh noise... and which one gives best swish and is good for HP and Boost.... Please help me out... Links to items, pictures of how to everything will help.. Thanks

      you're probably going to want a DV... BOV's aren't the best thing for 1.8t's. but you can get a BOV if you want.

      Any explaination on how the dv is installed and how it works and how the noise is released?

      noise huh .. hmm
      well dv incase u didnt know stands for diverter valve - so it doesnt vent the air back into the atmosphere - pits in back in the intake tract after the maf and before the turbo. So it doesnt really make a sound, not nearly as much. If you use a BOV then you are venting metered air out into the atmosphere and the engine will still supply as much fuel for the air you just dumped so it will run rich, (not well.)

      Ima vrt guy so im gonna take a shot at this one..but as far as installing a DV on 1.8t..you should be able to remove the plactic one and put in the new one..just keep an eye on which hose goes on the bottom & side of the DV..please correct me if im wrong...it should be as simple as that though..good luck

      yeah, it should be that simple, just take out the plastic one, and put in the new shiny one and every thing just fits... unless you get one that's not for a 1.8t.

      Ok i guess im tryin that first then BOV iguess but BOV would throw a code right?? And I need a BOV that doesnt have the flange like greddy type S right?
